Sea Bass 5-30

Headed out with Capt Rich, His wife Michelle and Lindsey at 10 am to learn some of the southern pieces for sea bass.First spot was drop and reel, with a ton of shorts but enough bigger biscuits to keep us there.Headed to a second drop where we had some nicer sea bass. The pink poles both girls were fishing were hammering the bass pretty hard so even Capt. Rich started using Michelle's pole while she took a break, catching the nicest couple of fish of the day on it.

Girls said it just proved PINK rules LOL

def a fun day with enough nice fish for a bunch of dinners.

Fluke 5-29

Had Jakesbeard and his wife Elly out for a try at fluking oceanside today.Left at midday hoping the crowd would be thinned out.To my surprise there were very few boats out there tonight.Elly had one 22" fluke to start off the season with our first keeper.I had another keeper on that drift , and we couldnt buy a bite after that.Tried a quick shot at sea bass at the Sea girt reef but didnt get into them .Was extra surprised toi see only two boats looking for stripers tonight where there had been over a hundred the last 3 weeks.Lack of bunker has def hurt our ocean bite

Stripers 5-25

Had the guys from Q&S Electric out today to try and break some striper cherries. Got a late start and bait was scarce as we headed north out of the inlet. Ran around looking and was only able to snag a few baits. But the guys did great making use of what we had. The went 3 for 3 with Dan's 36 pounder being the big fish of the night. All 3 bass were caught at the same time 30 seconds apart, and were all released to fight another day

Making REELMUSIC crushing the bass 5-23

Finally got Lindsey out for some stripers this afternoon. Had John, Rich and Matt jump on board filling open boat spots.. Knew with hearing this mornings bite was tough, that the rough weather would turn the bass on , on boy did it. There were pilot whales balling up the bunker, and the bass were rolling on top feasting on the coraled bait. Seas were pretty tough trying to throw the net so we snagged tonight, but found jigs to be just as effective on these bass feeding like crazy. Ended coming in early as the seas were kicking pretty good, but it def as a great night of bassing. Rich had the nicest bass at 45+, had a bunch in the high thirties, and most fish were 28-32 pounds, def a blast on light tackle. ALL BASS RELEASED AGAIN TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY pic of Lindseys nicest bass cam was set on video so heres a still frame

Bass CRUSH 5-22

Headed out with Matt, Craig , and Mike this afternoon to liveline for stripers. Started snagging bunker north of the inlet, along with a fleet of boats, Saw a good pod come up and floated the net filling both livewells. Bass were crashing the baits as soon as they hit the water. Caught ALOT of bass using all the bunker we had. Got intel there were big schools of bunker further north, netted another 50+ pieces and started fishing there, again bunker getting blown out of the water almost within seconds. Boat traffic started to get sill with guys running through the schools so we headed back south , getting on some lumps by ourselves. Took about 15 minutes to get some action, but once it started we ran through all the bait again catching bass after bass, headed in early at 7 as everyone had sore arms. Nice bass today with many in the high thirties. Bass released for another day

More crazy Bassing 5-21

Had Craig, Jeff and John out today on an open boat trip, fishing was again just silly bassing, fished north in the fleet after making bait on giant schools of bunker. Got on a pod of bunker that the bass had split away from the school and was catching them 2 at a time, after a couple boats just kept putting the school down I decided to head south and hit some spots that have been holding bass for us. Def was a good move as had the bass all to ourselves , with baits getting crashed as soon as they were marked on the screen. super fun day again Bunker bassin, with only 1 bass being kept for the table.

BUNKER BUSTING 5-20

Had Steve , David, and John on tonight to liveline.Made bait quickly outside the inlet , didnt go far and had two nice bass .Gt the call that a real good bite was going on down south so made the move there,Boat traffic had shut that bite off, so we moved back to where we started.ALL ALONE for half an hour till too many boats saw bent rods.Dropped three bunker in and had three rods bent over immediatly.Stayed that way for the next couple hours.used up all the bait and made bait a second time, and had those all used in the next drift.VERY nice sized bass tonight, with John having our big fish at 39#, but Little David def stole the show tonight, he was on fire, setting the hook like a seasoned veteren, only missing 2 fish all night while POUNDING the rest.Def a fun Night on the water

ALL BASS RELEASED

Crushing the bass 5-19

Matt and I decided to run out this evening having to gas the boat for tomorrows trip. BIG ground swell , but other than that the ocean was ripple free. Didnt mark much running North nor south till the tide change, but once some current started moving , the bass were all over big schools of bunker, fished Livies and top water plugs with GREAT results.

REELSYKK fun trip 5-17

Got a call From my buddy Capt Joe to run out for a fun trip since the weather forcast was so far off.Met Him , Capt Max and Sam at 5PM and Jumped on his boat the SYKK FISH and headed south to snag some bunker.Quickly put about 50 bunker in the livewell with the 4 of us snagging and headed out to the lumps.Marked fish as soon as we got there and dropped in the livies, and it broke wide open. All 4 bunker were slammed on top,.had some leader issues, which we quickly corrected, and enjoyed hammering the bass for the next 2 hours, running out of bait just before dark. Was a super night of fishing with good friends, with some SERIOUS ball busting going on.Nothing cooler than watching bass crash baits on top and seeing the vicious strikes.ALL bass released
