Fluking in the Nursery

saw a slight window to get out today before the south winds came a honkin.
So headed out to fluke a few hours with Tracey.
water was SUPER clean today. But still had a def SE heave to it.
with the expected 20 knot S winds decided to only go as far as the Rattle snake, so the ride home wouldnt be too bad.

Was DROP & REEL fluking there today, fluke were super aggressive but for the most part it was 17 - 17 1/2" fish .
keeper ratio was about 25-1.
Most of the time we both were fighting fish at the same time, sometimes even two at a time on the same line

BIG DOG FLUKE TOURNEY

Headed out on Scott's boat to fish the last tourney of the year. Started in the channels where we found alot of action . But was cookie cutter 17 1//2" fish.
So moved to some lumps in the ruff stuff where we found better fish just not alot of them.
we ended the day with 12 keepers to 7#14 OZ , not big enough for the Calcutta, and just over 16 pounds for our 3 fish taking 3rd place.

Congrats to the winners with a 8.7 pound fish and over 18 pounds.

was a fun picnic afterwards , and a great end to the 2014 Fluke season tourneys.

Already cant wait for the 2015 season hopefully kicking it up a notch !!!!

DIRTY WATER FLUKING

Headed out with Eddie and Austin this afternoon to try and do some fluke fishing.
Found the water very stained, but using marinade we were still able to scratch out a 3 man limit in the  dirty water.
Biggest fluke going just over 8 pounds.
super nice afternoon , and a sweet ride home at sunset on nice flat seas.

FSOS FLUKE TOURNEY

Headed out this morning with Scott, Eddie, and Steve , and (Anthony in spirit) to fish the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh annual fluke tourney.
Decided to only keep fish well over twenty inches today while fishing for a good fish to weigh in .

Boxed 17 nice fish to Ed's 8.73 and My 8.36, taking home the second and fifth place money, with those two fish.

def another fun day on the water.

Grandpa savino fluke tournament

Headed over to fish the Grand pa savino tourney with Scott , Eddie and Anthony this morning. Hoping for the added money door mat division which required a ten pound plus fish just to qualify to weigh.

We beat the fluke up really hard today , with eddie doing a number on the bigger fish. actually catching the 3 fish we weighed for the tourney, coming in at 22.55 which was good enough to take home third. his biggest was 8.1

one fish over 11 pounds was weighed, taking the door mat as well as the tourney , BUT heard that fish wasnt in the calcuttas, will know for sure at the pay out meeting which is on Tuesday night.

Def liked the way this tourney was run as ALL fish weighed in were on an electronic scale right in front of the crowd. was pretty cool with the big crowd cheering on all the big fish being brought to the scales

kept our four man limit with 8 fish being over 6 pounds, a pair of those over 7 and the 8 plus

getting closer each week , just need a few more pounds

Victory at Sea flukng Leonardo flukemasters tourney

Headed out On Scott's boat with Scott, Eddie, Anthony , and Steve to fish the flukemasters tourney.
In spite of fishing in wicked rain, 4-6 foot seas, and a howling east wind. we still were able to catch over a boat limit of fluke bucktailing.( only keeping 22/25 we were allowed).

Scott did a good job of keeping us on fish that were chewing in spite of us continually getting mugged by the few boats around us seeing us netting some fish

had a few good fish dropped today that could have helped our weights , as we finished just out of the money with a five fish limit weighing 28 pounds on the nose.
I had an 8#3 oz followed by Scott's 6# 11oz, the remainder a few fish over 4 pounds for our 28 pounds.

congrats to those who placed

Not too hard to tell our reel of choice for fluking LOL
