headed out with Tracey saturday afternoon for a few hours , stayed local and had way more shorts than keepers. ended up with 3 keepers

so decided to make a run up to the bay today with Tracey , Eddie and Steve.
netted peanuts and gave them a go for awhile but we once again were catching alot more short fish than keepers.

A FEW BASS 6-22

Ran out late with Scott to try and find some stripers.
made bait quite a ways north of our inlet, and after not finding much we made the long run north.
Lots more bait and pleasant conditions.. but we had just one bite each. and each landed that fish.
sweet ride home at 30 knots on flat seas.

Headed out with Tracey to check out some of our fluke spots.
bounced all over the ruff stuff and ended up in the channels  trying out a new jig we made through the winter , The FLUKE CANNON .
didnt  get many bites, but the ones we  did were quality fish.
Mine hitting the scale at the dock at 10# 1 Oz, and just over 30 "
had a whole porgy in his stomach.

GOOD NIGHT OF BASSING

Crazy wind gave us a break tonight.
Once again, bunker for miles.
Bass pushing through the bait at different spurts most of the late evening.
sometimes looking like someone was throwing cannon balls into the water.

when the fish did hit your bait it was HARD, and the runs tonight were intense.
we had 2 bass on tonight we couldnt even slow down.
Pulling half the spool before popping the leader.

Nice sunset to end the night on the ride in..

TOUGH WEATHER BASSING FOR THE OHIO BOYS

Default Tough weather bassing for the Ohio Boys

Craig brought both sons Reece and Austin to try and get Austin his first striper, and Reece a new PB trying to beat his 43# from a few years ago.

Was tough fishing both Wednesday and Thursday in the NON STOP wicked west wind.
knew it was going to be tough getting wind whipped each day, but also that the wind should have the bass on the beach.

Wednesday saw only one striper bite, which came unbuttoned.
not finding bass I made a long run north to get in on some of the bluefish action.
The old Reelmusic 3 ran through the slop quickly, and even quicker south when the Storm settled in about a half hour after Austin caught his first NJ fish a big blue.

Ride home was crazy with the rain coming at us sideways at 30 plus.
Beat the rolling fog back to the inlet drenched even wearing raingear.

Thursday we headed out to miles of bait , with not much on them.
A move north and found we had just missed a good bite. tried to pick up a straggler there but didnt draw a single hit.
Headed back towards the inlet stopping on pod after pod till we found one loaded with bass.
Them zipping through the bunker schools that a n bunch of whales had balled up.

The boys had a hard time pullling their eyes away even during a good bite as the show we had with the whales was awesome.
Many times breeching with mouthfulls of bunker just yards off the boat.
bass zooming all over the top.
all nice fish in the mid 30's, the biggest caught by Reece at 37#.

Ran in to regas the boat.
and headed back quickly to where we had left them to find little bait left there.

had just started fishing a little north , when got a call ( thanks FM) that the bass where back up on top where we had been for hours earlier.
Caught some more, and headed back in as the ocean was finally laying down as the boys had had enough.

got to break in the New Penn Battle 2, and the Penn Fathom LV on some nice fish.

BLESSED with good friends

Headed down to pull the boat Early this morning to check out what failed on the trim motors.
With Eddie and Tracey we had the boat on the trailer in a few minutes.
But it then took some effort to get the motors blocked up. Both the main piston seals had failed.

Then with the help of Tracey, Eddie, And Rich we pulled off the radar antenna so it can get a new top done this week.
Beating the rain by minutes.

VERY fortunate to have friends who are always there to lend a helping hand.
def makes for alot less stressful days when everything isnt perfect.

Cant wait to get her

back rigged back up and back in the slip as soon as possible

BIG GIRL 6/4

Headed out with Tracey this morning to do some bass fishing , and fluking.
Made bait with one throw, then bounced around only getting one bite, but it was a good one.
47# on the digital scale. Check out the girth on this beautiful Chessy bass !!

swam her for a few minutes after the pics, and got a big old splash from the broom tail when I set her free.

Had one fluke before heading in for lunch, then as we left to head back out I had a trim unit go bad.
Dam boats, one minute your on the top of the world cruising along.
the next your pissed waiting to do it again.
