TOUGH WEATHER BASSING FOR THE OHIO BOYS

Default Tough weather bassing for the Ohio Boys

Craig brought both sons Reece and Austin to try and get Austin his first striper, and Reece a new PB trying to beat his 43# from a few years ago.

Was tough fishing both Wednesday and Thursday in the NON STOP wicked west wind.
knew it was going to be tough getting wind whipped each day, but also that the wind should have the bass on the beach.

Wednesday saw only one striper bite, which came unbuttoned.
not finding bass I made a long run north to get in on some of the bluefish action.
The old Reelmusic 3 ran through the slop quickly, and even quicker south when the Storm settled in about a half hour after Austin caught his first NJ fish a big blue.

Ride home was crazy with the rain coming at us sideways at 30 plus.
Beat the rolling fog back to the inlet drenched even wearing raingear.

Thursday we headed out to miles of bait , with not much on them.
A move north and found we had just missed a good bite. tried to pick up a straggler there but didnt draw a single hit.
Headed back towards the inlet stopping on pod after pod till we found one loaded with bass.
Them zipping through the bunker schools that a n bunch of whales had balled up.

The boys had a hard time pullling their eyes away even during a good bite as the show we had with the whales was awesome.
Many times breeching with mouthfulls of bunker just yards off the boat.
bass zooming all over the top.
all nice fish in the mid 30's, the biggest caught by Reece at 37#.

Ran in to regas the boat.
and headed back quickly to where we had left them to find little bait left there.

had just started fishing a little north , when got a call ( thanks FM) that the bass where back up on top where we had been for hours earlier.
Caught some more, and headed back in as the ocean was finally laying down as the boys had had enough.

got to break in the New Penn Battle 2, and the Penn Fathom LV on some nice fish.
