Got blessed with a break in the weather this morning.
Was supposed to be raining and blowing 30 knots.
Rain stopped, wind dropped out right at high tide.
Put the boat on the trailer. And the skys opened up .
Got power washed on the ride home . And luckily the rain stopped again to let me flush the engines and really power wash the bottom .
Gets shrink wrapped this week for its short winter nap.
Already cant wait for spring stripers

Closeout togging
Ran the last trip of the year today chasing tog with Eddie ,Austin and Edward.
Bounced around a few places finding alot of life.
But once again toy tog way out numbered keepers.
Kept holding out on moving muvh hoping the bigger tog would chew.
Ended up with 11 in the box at days end .
Couldnt ask for much nicer day weather wise .
Light winds and flat seas .
So got to enjoy the last ride of the year before pulling the boat this coming week.

Decent togging 12/3
Headed out with Tracey and Eddie today.
Beautiful sea conditions allowed a quick run north. First drop was a bust. But the second one is where we stayed the rest of the day.
Constant bites mostly shorts with some nicer fish mixed in.
Boxed our limit and played catch and release the last hour.
Biggest fish little over 6 pounds.
With hard moon tide better fishing keeper wise was near slack.
Rigs def out fished the jigs today for us.
Dropped a real good one I hope sticks around till next weekend

More blustery togging
Headed out with Eddie and Ed today again to try for tog.
First spot had a few shorts then got over run with dogs.
Made a move to shallower water and had an ok bite there for the rest of the incoming tide .boxing 10 keepers and eddie also had his PB tog on a jig ,coming in at 9# on the digital. Which he released to fight another day
After the tide changed was like someone threw a switch.
Four more drops found just a few bites from super small fish .
Still pretty nice out for most of the day. But the ride home was a lumpy one

11/18 Blustery Blackfish Blues and Bass
Despite the insane winds yesterday got to enjoy a decent day on the water with Tracey,Eddie ,and Ed.
With steady winds around 25 I knew staying close to the beach would be our only option.
Started with snag and drop getting no love on miles of bunker.
Headed up the beach and anchored in 35' had a very steady pick of blackfish .
But shorts drastically out numbered keepers.
And keepers were only 16/17 fish.
Boxed a dozen and headed back down the beach to bass the last hour.
Found a pod getting hit by blues and bass .
Catching a few as the sunset.
Then turned the rocket east beating the falling fireball back to the inlet.
Cant always be banner days ,but still felt great to be on the water.
Check out the mouth on Ed's last bass . It had been caught a few times.
Looked pretty rough and was bleeding so he boxes that one. Releasing the rest to fight another day

Ok bassing
Headed out with John this morning .
Bait was pretty local north and south.
Slow pick of bites, seemed just a few cruising fish .
John had an over as well as an under. Even the smaller bass had no prob swallowing the bunker

C bass fall opener
As in CHUMP bass . As thats how our day went today.
Headed out with Jack today for the sea bass opener .
Fished alot of spots today .
Very little life on many spots I expected to be loaded .
Spots were we marked fish we caught them good on bait, jigs, and gulp.
Problem was tons of sub legal fish .
We had been throwing fish under 14" back hoping for quality fish . But instead left us with just a dinner or two in the box.
Blackfished a few hours with just as poor results..just shorts.
Was a super nice day. Flat seas allowed me to quickly cover some ground .
Def liking the new fishing rod arch.
Really keeps the roxs out of the way.

Labor day fluke
Went out with Tracey and John today. Bounced all over looking for fish .
Picked a few keepers at each spot amongst a ton of shorts.
Sucked throwing back nice sea bass throughout the day .
No jumbos today . But another boat limit before the south winds started to really crank.
Had some weird colorations today too

Fluke and sea bass limit
Headed out with Eddie and Edward Jr this morning .
Decided to run north due to yesterdays crowds .
Got to fish alone all day without another boat around .
Fish only seemed to chew when ever I was marking bait .
Had to work through alot of shorts to get the box full of nice fluke as well as a limit of nice sea bass .
Caught a few more keepers (released)before heading back in at one .

Blustery fluke bite
Headed out with Tracey, Jack and Jake.
As usual the forcast was way off . And we met wild winds the further north we went .
Backtracked some and had a decent chew .
Boxing our limit a little after noon . Leaving one spot open for a big one . Which we didnt fill . Throwing back some 19/20" fish
Afternoon winds finally died down . Thought we would find something to chew. But the bite died with the wind .

Gran Pa Savino Fluke tourney
Headed out with Scott, John And Anthony to fish the GPS fluke tourney.
Left at O dark thirty in flat seas quickly making it to the grounds .
Made a bunch of moves through the morning till finding a good pod of fish.
Being a NY tourney all keepers had to be 19" or better.
which was no problem as the fish we found were all 20" to 24" . if we were not throwing fish back would have been an easy limit before 9 AM.
Through mid day as the bite died off we still didnt have the 3 fish we were looking for .
seemed everything was 3-4 pounds .
made another move and Scott connected with a 7.3. decided with fishing for many being tough we had to make the run in. SInce we had a few more decent bites on that drift we redid it, with Anthony catching another close to 5 #.
figured we had to leave em biting and run. Thinking the run would take close to an hour
with still decent seas, we ended up making it to GK in under a half hour.
Our fish were good for 2nd place, and a decent calcutta.
Missing the big money calcutta by just 2 OZ.
still a great day on the water., another boat limit and alot of laughs
made the long run back from Great Kills to Shark river at 40 Knots, just beating the crazy Thunder storms that pushed in .

July 4th fluke
Headed out with Tracey and Scott today to check out some of our fluke spots with tourney time getting close.
Be bounced all over today on a flat ocean. making good time between spots. but the fishing flat out STUNK. we had about a dozen short fluke, 1 ling, and a few sea robins.
Fished a few areas that looked to be loaded with sand eels, and didnt catch anything around them.
Still a nice day when you can run wide open all day , cranking the tunes.
Happy fourth to everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!...

FOGGY FLUKE 7-2-17
Fished solo this morning. Had a limit the first drift to 5 pounds.
Did another drift, had three more keepers(thrown back) and four shorts.
all fish were just hanging on the baits.
was sure once the drift picked up it would be lights out. NOT
Fished the next 6 hours only getting 2 bites, which were both sea robins.

Stripers
finally got out to try and catch some bass with Steve tonight.
Ocean was like a desert. very little bait as we made our way north.
Got some intel to push further north, as their had been a decent bite.
after seeing a building fleet, I could see bunker getting slammed from all over.
Got to catch my fish on pencil poppers.
was cool to see the big bass feeding on top
