Tough fishing weekend 6-13---6-14

Decide to head out with Tracey and Eddie Saturday afternoon. Running the Sea Pro as the Contender is still having some work done.

Had planned on a noon start but had issues with the trailer that I had just had bearing redone on. as last weekend we found the lugnuts were not really tight and I almost lost a wheel.
which had worked the splines loose.
Limped the trailer into Dosils, where George did us a huge favor and Jumped right on it and changed both hubs entirely and had us on our way 2 hours later.

We netted bait with Edie tossing one throw and decided to head out east where I had some reports of fish in cleaner water.
we found the water way cleaner than the Bay but only saw a bunch of pods of dolphins pushing bunker.
Fluked around some rubble piles for a few hours with not much but shorts to show for it. Headed back into the bay catching a few more shorts and one keeper.

This morning tracey and I headed out to bass the Bay.
With NO THROWS of the net the livewell was full as another site member here had a net full and asked if we wanted some. ( THANK YOU )
Filled the livewells and off to fish.
Bounced around a few areas that have been good , and heard from another Captain he had some fish close to where we where but a fleet had stated to build shutting the bite off as we got there.
we fluked the channels for a bit, then as boats left had a quick shot at a few bass with Traceys new PB 38 pounds being the nicest.

Fluked a few more hours before heading in at 11 , after just catching a bunch more shorts.

Couldnt ask for two nicer weather trips, just wish we could have found more fish that wanted to chew.

Sea bass and Cod 6-7

Headed out with Tracey, Eddie and Austin for a few hours to run the Sea Pro and put some sea bass  on Ice.
Bounce around and Tracy and I caught a dozen knuckles as well as a few cod .

The boys stayed busy keeping the Bergalls away from us LOL

SMITTY'S HAULIN FLORIDA

I want to give a big thumbs up to Smitty for getting my Contender up here to NJ so quickly from Florida .

I had a trailer shop redo much of the trailer before its long ride here.
Including tires, new brakes, and master cylinder to find out NONE of it was going to work as the actuators springs were rusted into a solid mass.( alot of money spent for an unfinished job)

Smitty took the time to redo the actuator and still had my boat here the day he said it would be delivered.

Was like dealing with a good friend not a stranger the whole move. Letting me know exactly how things were going each step of the way.

Anyone looking for a good hauler he is def the guy to call.

GOOD FEW HOURS OF BLACKFISHING 12/14

Decided it was time to pull the boat today. After jockeying trailers at the marina and getting the truck loaded up.
Tracey and I headed out for a few hours of blackfishing.
Got anchored up at 1130 and by 130 we had a limit in the box.
The best of was Tracey's PB at 9 Pounds 4 OZ .
Bite was steady but they def were not committing to tugging at the bait.
Instead you would just feel them pick the bait up , and them feel them chewing the crab softly. a quick lift and it was game on
Shorts outnumbered keepers by about 2-1.

Nice to have some steady action before putting the boat away for its short winter nap.
Had a surveyor from NMFS stop us at the dock, where he weighed and measured all of the fish.
