Since the boat is still in the shop headed out on Scotts boat with him and Tracey.
went looking to find some new turf with little to show for it. with little drift conditions
bounced around some of our normal spots , but by then the south wind had really cranked up .
Scott and I each managed 3 keepers to 4 pounds, but that was it besides about a dozen shorts.
Still nice to get back out on the water.
Hopefully Mercury gets my parts here so I can get my boat bank in the water.

Fun trip mixed Bag
Had Steve and Tracey out yesterday afternoon .
Decided to bypass the stripers in the early afternoon and do a few hours of fluking .
Bounced around and caught a few decent fish to Steve's 4 pounder.
Then headed off to bass, after getting a call it was starting to go off.
made a long run back to the bait. and moved around till finding good marks and picked a few bass to 28 pounds.
Nice night on the water.

GOT MY BASS KICKED
Headed out to do some fluke fishing with Tracey this afternoon followed by bass.
only a few short fluke to show for our efforts , the big SE swell probably had alot to do with that .
She caught the biggest sea bass today , just over 4 pounds as well as 5 others between 2 and 4 pounds while fluking
.
Then had our biggest bass of the night at 34 pounds.

MEMORIAL DAY STRIPED BASS
Got out this afternoon to try for some bass, with Scott and Tracey. bait was up and down all night , with a few bass under them.
Picked bass to 30 pounds through the evening . pretty nice out , and really layed down at sunset.
Got to fish another of the Battalion rods that Penn has just released. In a heavy 15-30 pound line rating.
Rod is def a great match to the Revo NACL . Light as a feather to fish , and really has alot of backbone.
They def have hit a homerun with this series.

SHAKEDOWN FLUKE 5/24
Headed out with Scott and Tracey for a shot at some fluke in the ruff stuff.
Stopped and got some bunker, and hit a few lumps where I got a striper right at 30# ( released)
Headed to the ruff stuff, and made a few moves till we found a few fish.
Scott had the first keeper fluke a little while later.along with some Biscuits, which Tracey had the biggest of.
Scott and I each ended up with 2 keeper fluke, and 2 shorts.
Nice fish the smallest keeper was over 20" and the biggest was just over 5 1/2 pounds.
Caught him on the new Penn Battalion bucktail rod. felt really good. while fishing up to 6 OZ bucktails .
Nice variety of fish , for a short quick trip out.

MOTHERS DAY Footballs and Fishing
What happens when you the first thing you catch in the net is a FOOTBALL ? and a nice one at that.
you end up getting Bass & Blue playing LOL
Headed out tonight with Tracey for a shakedown run.
Big
to Capt Rich for doing another tune up for me and having the boat running sweet .
Headed out of the inlet to find a nice football floating about a mile off.
netted it as we hit some big bunker schools getting crushed by blue fish ,and LOTS of them .
caught blues until our arms were sore then moved off looking for bass away from the ravaging blues.
Found a nice pod of bass looking to feed and it was game on , leaving them still biting till well after dark.
A great start to the new year.
